Vocal Cord Injections
In cases of vocal cord paralysis resulting in chronic hoarseness, a vocal cord injection can noticeably improve a patient’s symptoms. The affected vocal cord is injected with a filler material, allowing the surgeon to “close the gap” and not only improve a patient’s voice quality, but also their projection. Many different filler materials exist, from temporary to more permanent solutions. The procedure is fairly quick and can be performed in office or in the operating room, depending on patient comfort.
